Worry is a misuse of imagination.
Imagination is to create, not to worry
The ratio of something to nothing is infinite – Peter Diamandis
So…get into gear and create something already!
Make time to feed your soul
Take some amount of time each day to do something that brings you joy. We all get busy at times, but by taking a time-out to bring some joy into your life, even 5 minutes, will refresh you, affirm that you are someone outside of the tasks you must complete, and help you to creatively approach problems in all areas of your life.
Your boat and life
Your boat is exactly where you have steered it by adjusting the rudder and speed in response to the environmental conditions you are in. It is absurd to believe that you must continue going in the same direction you have been going, and it is equally absurd to believe that your current speed and rudder angle are appropriate to take you where you want to go when the wind shifts and sea currents change as you continue your journey.
Here is a better set of guidelines:
- Decide what you want, where you want to go.
- Briefly assess basic environmental conditions, but not for too long. From this, you should be able to determine the next right adjustment or step to take you where you want.
- You do not need the entire map to start the journey.
- Adjust your rudder and speed to take you in the direction you decide to go.
- Check your progress and make adjustments as needed.
- Be grateful that you are on your journey, the boat is floating, and you have a rudder to let you choose your own way.
